Division of Cell-Free Sciences

Research Objectives

We were successful in developing a wheat embryo cell-fee protein synthesis technology that is able to synthesize almost all proteins without biological limitations. Based on the cell-free technology, we are developing five technologies:

  1. Applied cell-free technology
  2. Technology for production, purification and function analysis of membrane proteins
  3. Technology for screening of substrate proteins
  4. Technology for drug discovery & development of target proteins
  5. Technology for identification of autoantigen proteins

Using these technologies, we are exploring novel proteins and chemical probes to understand the cell signaling, cancer development and virus replication.

We also seek to spread the use of the cell-free technologies across the world introducing its principle and advantages.
